On
Saturday July 15, 1995 The Omenola Griot Afro-Centric
teaching Museum offered (Dr. Narvie & Richard Pules)
Their museum as a meeting place for the forming
of a neighborhood association. The group originated
when another neighborhood watch committee was linked
to the city for needed services and distribution
of resourcces without the input of residents that
surrounded that development.
Community gardening is well and wonderful in the
Ashview Community! Irish potatoes, corn, tomatoes,
garlic are just a few of vegetables that thrive
in the Ashview Community. The Ashview Community
Development Association, Inc. (ACDA) evolved from
the Saturday July 15, 1995 meeting at the Omenola
Griot Afro-Centric Teaching Museum. The association
met to conduct neighborhood watches, to articulate
neighborhood issues and to offer solutions to
housing problems and deteriorating conditions
in the area.
